I’m a first-generation American (Norwegian mother and German father), a Bay Area native, and have been living in San Francisco for 18 years. I spent childhood summers outdoors, some in the incredible nature of Norway, and also hiking with my mom in the hills of California. It was a combination of this and my mother’s influence in using natural, folk remedies, that eventually brought me to study Traditional Chinese Medicine with a particular interest in herbal formulations.

I have been practicing now for 10 years, and continually fall in love with the ways that this medicine brings positive change in people’s lives. I am particularly passionate about the profound impact that this medicine has in optimizing women’s health, as well as conception. I love supporting women and or men with their fertility goals and supporting pregnancy and the post natal time.

Jessica Chimento is a licensed acupuncturist and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She is an avid traveler, having been to over 30 countries, social activist and is committed to serving and empowering marginalized communities through acupuncture and herbal healing.

Jessica was born and raised in San Francisco to Salvadoran and German-Jewish parents. From a very young age she observed her great grandmother practicing traditional mesoamerican medicine as a curandera, which spared a deep love and passion in healing, community wellness and traditional and herbal medicine.

Jessica began her career seeking to empower communities through law and politics, receiving a Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Cruz in Latin American and Latino Studies and Politics and then serving as an intern on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. in the office of Xavier Becerra. She brings this same commitment to social justice, particularly within the Latinx community, to her work using traditional healing modalities.

While pursuing her doctorate from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Jessica interned in the stroke rehab ward at California Pacific Medical Center, Glide church in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, and the Women’s Resource Center program run by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department for formerly incarcerated women. She was also a Spanish language guest lecturer for the Cancer Awareness, Research, and Education program at Zuckerberg General Hospital.

Jessica is committed to supporting women to feel more empowered in their health journeys, be it through fertility, prenatal or postpartum care. In addition to women’s health, Jessica’s experience and interests include treating pain and musculoskeletal complaints, dermatology, digestive issues, and general health maintenance. Her treatment approach strives to achieve balance both mentally and physically by viewing the body as a whole and using all the tools traditional Chinese medicine has to offer including acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, massage, moxibustion, and herbal medicine.
